The Boulder Lakes area features a variety of wildflowers including beargrass and glacier lilies, providing good habitat for black bears. This may be the easiest hike you ever take. Its only 1.5 miles to the Lower Boulder Lake along a slight incline about 440 feet of elevation gain. The trail is well maintained, and it stays in the woods most of the way. If you want to see a subalpine lake without vehicle access, this is it. Pick up a free Trail map at the Local Ranger Station in Eureka.
